Privacy Policy

Effective 20 September 2026 · updated for the browser extension

In short: Lucklet (the Windows app and the Lucklet for Chrome extension) has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your settings, streak and photos stay on your device. The Windows app makes two kinds of network requests and the browser extension makes one, all described below.

What stays on your device

Lucklet saves the following in a settings file in its own application data folder. It never leaves your device, and uninstalling the app removes it.

Which charms you have hung on your rope, your size, volume, thread and aura choices, and the hook position
Your daily streak and blessing count
The custom charms you make in Studio: emoji, name badges, and pictures (a picture is processed on your computer, and the finished charm is stored inside the settings file and never uploaded)
Your license key and the time it was last checked, if you unlock the full version

Network requests Lucklet makes

As with any web request, MET Norway can see your IP address.
Gumroad api.gumroad.com	Checking a license key when you unlock the full version, and checking again from time to time that it is still valid (for example, that it was not refunded)	Your license key and the Lucklet product identifier. Gumroad can see your IP address.

The Gumroad request only happens if you enter a license key. The weather request can be avoided by blocking the app from the network; the charm will still work.

Lucklet for Chrome (browser extension)

The browser extension follows the same rules as the Windows app, with these specifics.

What it stores: the same choices, streak, blessing count, custom charms and license key as above, saved with the browser's extension storage on your device (chrome.storage.local). Nothing is uploaded, and removing the extension deletes it.
What it never reads: the extension does not read, collect, record or transmit the pages you visit, your browsing history, page contents, form fields, cookies or passwords. On websites it only draws the charm on top of the page.
Where it appears: always on the extension's own New Tab page. On ordinary websites only if you turn it on, for one site or for every site, and the browser asks your permission first. You can turn it off at any time from the toolbar popup.
Network requests: only one. If you enter a license key, the extension sends the key and the Lucklet product identifier to Gumroad (api.gumroad.com) to check it, and checks again about once a day. The extension does not request weather data.
Permissions, and why: storage keeps your choices; alarms schedules the daily license check; scripting and the optional website access draw the charm on sites you choose; activeTab lets the toolbar popup act on the current tab; search lets the New Tab search box use your default search engine; access to api.gumroad.com checks license keys.
Remote code: none. All code is included in the extension package.

The use of information received from browser APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Buying the full version

The full version is bought on Gumroad, outside the app, the browser extension and the Microsoft Store. Gumroad handles your payment, email and receipt under its own privacy policy. Lucklet never sees your payment details.

What we do not do

We do not collect, sell or share personal information
We do not run analytics, crash reporting or advertising
We do not read your files, screen or other apps. Studio only reads a picture when you choose it, drop it onto the window, or paste it
We do not knowingly collect anything from children, because we collect nothing from anyone

Microsoft Store

If you install Lucklet from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may collect information such as your download and usage of the app under Microsoft's privacy statement. We receive none of it.

Chrome Web Store

If you install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, Google may collect information about your install under Google's privacy policy. We receive none of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
